<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible">Open the <span style="font-weight:bold;">Template Management</span> dialog to copy, delete, edit, import and export templates and to create new templates. This is also where you define the default templates.</help:help-text></p>

<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Depending on whether you have set the lower combo box to show templates or documents, you will see corresponding files.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-id value="SFX2_LISTBOX_DLG_ORGANIZE_LB_LEFT_TYP" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-id value="SFX2_LISTBOX_DLG_ORGANIZE_LB_RIGHT_TYP" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">In the combo box at the bottom of the dialog, select <span class="T1">Templates</span> to display the templates contained in the selected folder. Select <span class="T1">Documents</span> to display those files in the upper list box. </help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph">When you display templates, the folders and templates saved in the directory path for templates and their contents are shown in the list box. The folder icons represent the various template areas.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The templates are filed by default in the Templates folder of the Office directory: supplied templates in <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="UNIX">{installpath}/share/template/german</help:case><help:default>{installpath}\share\template\german</help:default></help:switch> and user templates in <help:switch select="System" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><help:case select="UNIX">{installpath}/user/template</help:case><help:default>{installpath}\user\template</help:default></help:switch>. This setting is controlled in <help:link Id="66242" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Tools - Options - <help:productname>%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> - Paths</span></help:link>.</p>

<p class="Paragraph">Double-click on a folder icon to display the templates contained in it. If you then click on the icon of a template, the <span class="T1">Styles</span> and <span class="T1">Configuration</span> subentries appear. Double-click <span class="T1">Styles</span> to display all Styles used in this document, or double-click the <span class="T1">Configuration</span> icon to display the various configuration settings, provided you have defined your own configurations in the <help:link Id="65748" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Configure</span></help:link> dialog.</p>
<p class="Paragraph">If you display the templates on the left and the documents on the right, you can drag and drop the individual Styles or configurations from a file to a template (and vice versa). Simply select the desired Style or configuration and drag it to the document entry. If a Style of the same type and name already exists in a document, a query appears to ask if the existing Style should be replaced.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click this button for a selection of various commands to manage and organize your templates.</help:help-text> The commands available in the submenu depend on the current selection (document, template, or template folder).</p>
<p class="Paragraph">The submenu includes the following commands:</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click here to create a new folder for an additional template category.</help:help-text> The name of the folder (<span class="T1">Untitled</span>) will be selected, and you can directly type a new name for the template category. Click anywhere outside the name, and the new name will replace the default <span class="T1">Untitled</span>.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This command removes the selected template category or selected template from the list.</help:help-text> A query will appear before deletion.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Click here to load the selected template for editing. </help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If you want to import a template, select the folder in the list box in which the imported template is to be stored, and then select<span class="T1"> Import template.</span></help:help-text> A default dialog appears for selecting a template (see <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/><help:link Id="65703" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Open</span></help:link> dialog). As a default the directory is opened that has been entered as "My Documents" (see Tools - Options - <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> - Paths).</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">With this command you can export the template selected in the list box. When you do so the template is saved under a new name.</help:help-text> A default dialog appears for saving templates (see<help:link Id="65755" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Save as</span></help:link> dialog). As the default the directory is opened that has been entered as "My Documents" (see Tools - Options - <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> - Paths).</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If you want to print out the template settings, double click the template in the list box and select the <span class="T1">Templates</span> icon, then select the <span class="T1">Print</span> menu item.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Here you can adjust the printer settings before printing.</help:help-text> The default dialog for <help:link Id="65661" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Select printer</help:link> appears. You can select another printer or change the settings of the current printer.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Updates the display in the list boxes.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Head3"><help:help-id value="HID_ORGANIZE_STDTEMPLATE_ADD" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>Setting as default template</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This command sets the template document marked in the dialog as the default template for all documents of this type opened from now on. </help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This opens a submenu showing all document types for which separate default templates have been set. Select the type to which you want to reapply the original default.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph">This is where you open the <help:link Id="67814" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Templates: Address Book Assignment</help:link> dialog.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">To copy templates or configurations from a <help:productname>%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> document, select the document from the list box and click <span class="T1">File</span>.</help:help-text> A normal file selection dialog appears (see <help:link Id="65703" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"><span class="T1">Open</span></help:link> dialog). The document selected there appears in the list box.</p>
